Sandra R. Gilbert is a native of Canton, Mississippi; Ms. Gilbert is a Paralegal at the Law firm of Blackmon & Blackmon, PLLC. She has worked with the firm since September 2013. Ms. Gilbert is a 1984 graduate of Canton High School.
She completed the Paralegal Certificate Program with Belhaven College in 2004. Sandra is a 2011 graduate of Holmes Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies.
Ms. Gilbert served eight years active duty in the U.S. Army as a Certified Legal Specialist; duties were to investigate facts and law of cases to determine cause of action for case preparation. Sandra prepared affidavits, warrants, subpoenas, and interviewed clients. Sandra also prepared Wills, Power of Attorneys and served as law librarian where she was responsible for monitoring and updating legal manuals.
Sandra worked as a records clerk with the Ridgeland Municipal Court, where she coordinated with judges, lawyers, police and social agency officials in order to coordinate the functions of the court. Sandra prepared dockets and calendars of cases called, attended court proceedings and recorded the minutes of court proceedings. Sandra collected payments for fines, recorded and maintained accounting records for the Court Services Department.
Ms. Gilbert’s responsibilities at the law firm of Blackmon & Blackmon, PLLC, include assisting attorneys in the preparation of various pleadings and legal documents; responsible for propounding and responding to discovery, coordinating deposition and hearing dates; conducting client interviews, drafting demand letters and settlement affidavits. Ms. Gilbert is the proud Mother of three children, Javonte, Jalen and Destiny Gilbert. She attends Canton United Methodist Church where she is a member of the Education Ministry, Finance Committee and Canton United Methodist Mass Choir.
